Good value don't taste that bad but wish they were smaller as large pills and hard to swallow .definitely helped me

I am generally quite sceptical about supplements, but one cannot dismiss the potential benefits for some people, even if it is a placebo effect [which is, after an effect - if it makes you feel better then who's to say it doesn't work.However, I've been taking Glucosamine for a long time after my Osteopath recommended it based on some research he and a colleague had been involved in which showed improvement in cartilage mass in scans of damaged joints over time.So, as I'm a fan of Glucosamine, I thought I'd give these a try when they were offered to me under the Vine Voices program.Good things:----------------------------They are certified vegan.They are much easier to swallow than the massive tablets I usually takeThey contain plant-based Chondroitin so this component too is veganThey also contain Vitamin C and Turmeric [I also take Turmeric as a supplement after a friend recommended it, and I believe it has helped reduce aches and pains in my 69 year old joints, as it did for her]They have a much greater percentage of plant-based ingredients than my regular brand.Not so good things------------------------They are expensive compared to my regular Glucosamine [11p per capsule vs 5p per tablet]I don't really like the taste of the capsule shellThere is a lot of plastic packaging [90 capsules in the container as opposed to 300 in the plastic jar]Verdict--------The difficulty with reviewing supplements is that so much is based on personal experience and perceptions. But even if an improvement is a placebo effect, it's still an improvement, yes?I will finish the 45 day course these and if I notice a sudden marked improvement in physical wellbeing I may switch to them. And of course add this to my review 😊😊😊If you want vegan chondroitin, plus turmeric, vitamin C and rosehip all in one capsule, these may be for you.

The capsules are beige and just over 2cm in length. The glucosamine dosage provided by two of them is given as 1 gram glucosamine hydrochloride: bear in mind that this contains more glucosamine than glucosamine sulphate, and translates as 831mg. Which is a good dose, though slightly lower than that used in some of the research. When comparing to similar products, you may also need to do some maths depending on how much is in each capsule and how many you need to take daily.Phytodroitin was a new one on me - confusing, as the label says “Glucosamine & Phytodroitin”, then refers to Chondroitin underneath. It seems that Phytodroitin is a more environmentally friendly plant-based equivalent to Chondroitin (no sharks or shellfish harmed in the making of it). The ‘turmeric’ is just turmeric – turmeric root powder - not curcumin, which is the active ingredient.As always, if you want to investigate whether there is scientific evidence for the benefits of glucosamine, or any contraindications, check a range of recent research papers for yourself.
