As someone who's battled digestive issues for a while, I've been trying out these Vegan Digestive Enzymes with Betaine HCl. The capsules are certainly easy enough to swallow, which is always a plus, and being vegan-friendly is a big tick in my book. What initially drew me in was the promise of relief from post-meal bloating. The blend of enzymes like bromelain, amylase, protease, lipase, and papain, alongside the herbal additions of apple cider vinegar, ginger, caraway, turmeric, peppermint, fennel, and chamomile, seems thoughtfully put together to aid digestion and soothe the gut. I've definitely noticed some improvement, particularly after those larger meals that usually leave me feeling like a balloon. The inclusion of Betaine HCl is also interesting, as it's supposed to help with stomach acidity, which I know can be an issue for some.I appreciate that these are made in the UK and have minimal fillers. For those of us who struggle with digesting certain foods, this combination of enzymes and supporting ingredients feels like it could be genuinely beneficial, almost like providing the enzymes our bodies might be lacking. The bromelain, derived from pineapple, is also a nice touch for its anti-inflammatory properties. However, I do have a couple of reservations. Firstly, there is no claim of 3rd party batch testing for purity. This is no big deal though as at least it is made in a GMP certified facility. The bottle seems to empty quite quickly, especially if you're taking the recommended 1-2 capsules with each main meal. I calculate 4 of these a day will last around 3 weeks, so not the cheapest of supplements in this category. One fellow reviewer actually found these enzymes didn't agree with them, leading to increased bloating and gas, so it's clear that individual reactions can vary significantly – what works wonders for one might not for another. Another user found them a tad pricier compared to other options but equally effective.Overall, for me, these enzymes seem to be a helpful addition to managing my digestion, especially after heavier meals. The combination of enzymes and botanicals, along with the vegan-friendly formulation, is appealing. However the cost may be prohibitive for some in the longer term. For around £10 they would get an extra star from me.
