CoQ10 with Selenium – A Swedish Study on Cardiovascular Health

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States. That's why supporting the health of our hearts is incredibly important. One of the newest ways to support the heart is by consuming CoQ10 along with Selenium. There are new studies coming out about the benefits of CoQ10 with Selenium, but one in particular caught our attention.

This Swedish study, published in 2015, enrolled participants between the ages of 70-89. The study's focus was centered around the fact that a decaying cardiac mitochondrial function plays a critical role in the development of heart failure. Additionally, CoQ10 depletion has been found in patients suffering from a heart condition.

The results showed that after 4 years of supplementation with CoQ10 and Selenium, the study participants demonstrated a significant reduction in markers for cardiac dysfunction and mortality. Better yet, the study showed a reduction in hospitalizations related to heart failure in the CoQ10 and Selenium group. Beyond this, the CoQ10 and Selenium group also showed an improved quality of life compared to the placebo group.

For those looking to add CoQ10 and Selenium to their supplement regimen, we carry both of these nutrients in an easy-to-use powder supplement called CoQ10 with Selenium, which contains 100mg of CoQ10 and 100mcg of Selenium per serving.
